Haleigh's 1st Beach Trip

We went to Charleston for the 11U World Series. This was Haleigh’s first beach trip and of course she LOVED it! I thought that she would like the water because she loves the pool, but I didn’t realized she would like it as much as she did! When we took her out to the beach for the first time she kept looking around and she looked so cute with her hair blowing in the wind! I took lots of pictures! Matt took her to the water and I just sat back and watched. Matt sat her down and she started going into the ocean! She is one brave little girl! We took her on in and let her “jump the waves.” Her little face would light up when she saw the waves coming towards her. She loved the sand too! She found a hermit crab and a live starfish! She had lots of fun playing in the sand with Elijah, Gracie and the boys! I can’t wait to take her back!

Haleigh's 1st Birthday

Well, it is official, Haleigh is a year old. It is sill so hard for me to believe that it has been a year already. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were sitting in the hospital holding her for the first time.

We had her birthday party on her birthday, even though it was on Monday. We had it up at the park in Landrum. I was so stressed out because it was storming right up until it was time for the party to start. I think I started decorating at 5:30pm and the party was supposed to start at 6pm!

The party was monkey themed! I know, who would have thought. We have called Haleigh “Monkey” almost from day one. She loves monkeys and it fits her perfectly! She climbs on, over, and on top of anything she can! There were monkeys everywhere! Haleigh had so much fun and got lots of presents! She got a swing set from Meme and Pop and Aunt Ashley. Matt loved this because we got to take the swing off the front porch! She got lots of toys and clothes and some beach toys and a new bathing suit for her first beach trip in July. She really enjoyed the cake! She had pink icing everywhere! We even got to see a friend that we had npt seen in over a year! I was so excited!

Catching Up

I know that I have not been on here in a while, so I am going to try to catch up on everything! We had a great Christmas! Haleigh got so much! Who knew that a 6 month old would get so much! She continued to have ear infections one after another so Dr. Phillips sent us to the ENT. Dr. Waters put tubes in her ears in April and she has been a new child! She is almost walking! She will take 2 steps by herself and look at you and fall down. It is so cute to watch! She is into everything though. We had to childproof the cabinets last week finally because she would open and close and open and close. Matt's Birthday is tomorrow and Gracie's and Aunt Sidney's is Thursday and then Haleigh's is on Monday! It is hard to believe that she is already 1! I think that is pretty much all in a nut shell. Haleigh's party is Monday so I will post some pictures then!

Halloween and Firsts

Well, we have had a big week! We took Haleigh trick-or-treating. She was a pumpkin! It was so cute. We really did not go many places. We only went to my mom's, Matt's parents, Uncle Reg's, Grandma Irene and Grand Judy's, but it was still so exhausting!

Matt and I took her to Sky Top Apple Orchard on Sunday. It was so fun! The leaves were so pretty! We took lots of pictures! Haleigh even got to pick some apples and she got to eat some too! Matt gave her an apple that we had tried and when we took it away she cried for 5 minutes. But, the crying stopped when she got into the apples and tried to eat them!

Haleigh got her first tooth on Tuesday this week! She is only 4 & 1/2 months old! But of course she is doing everything early! She also has her first ear infection. :( That is not very fun.

She is liking her baby food! So far she is eating oatmeal, bananas, applesauce and sweet potatoes. We tried peaches, but that did not go very well. Maybe it will be better next time. We just started apple juice too and she LOVES it!

Haleigh's Arrival

Haleigh was born on Sunday, June 15, 2008. Which was also Father's Day. We arrived at the hospital around 10:00pm on Saturday night. They hooked me up to the monitors to track my contractions and watch Haleigh. They admitted me around 1:30 and decided to go ahead and induce. I got the IV with the fluids and medications and of course the epidural. The doctor broke my water around 10:00am. She had to do a quick ultrasound and found out that Haleigh was breech so I was prepped for a c-section.

Haleigh Brooke Henderson was born at 11:26am. She weighed 7 pounds, 3 1/2 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. She had red/blonde curly hair and blue eyes. It is hard for me to remember a lot about that day, especially during the c-section, but we have plenty of pictures and video! It is truly a day that we will never forget.

Well this is our first post. We decided to do this to keep everyone updated on Haleigh. There are a lot of people that ask about her that we do not get to see often, so this is a good way to keep everyone in the loop.
